The Animation

I started animating in Flash in Ottawa when some friends were doing e-greeting cards for a small advertising house. I learned how to do the most basic of animation but it was this that lead to me being hired as a Flash animator back in 2001. Thinking I'd eventually go back to boarding once this stint was done, I ended up spending the next 4 years as a Flash and Toonboom animator and 4 more making other peoples animation look good.

Demo 2009 - While Directing Animation on 6Teen I'd always keep a few shots for myself to show my crew what I wanted, and why I had the position. It also let me have a little fun and keep my chops up. This is a demo I put together shortly after the series ended.

Stoked - After 6teen, I took some animation work on Stoked whcih would be be my last credit as an animator even though I've continued animating on various projects in a supervisory role.

Alien Vampire Freakout - This was the first scene I did on Stoked. Coming on halfway through the production, I wanted to make sure they knew what I was capable of.

Hurricane Report - "We want you to animate a character in a hurricane holding a camera on his face while his clothes and hair are blowing in the wind...oh and then could you have the wind carry him off while still holding onto the camera? Thanks."

Beaver Butts Rap - What does a middle class white surf dude know about rap? About as much as I do. Worked out well for both of us.

3 Struts - The way these specific walks were used in the scene I animated them for didn't do justice to the thought process that went into figuring each one out. So I want to show them off in their true glory.
