New Boards up!

I put together some samples of the Grojband mini-scene boards I did. Only a small sample out of the 52. These were a lot more fun than the site and game intros because there was a lot more freedom. If it was funny and standards and practices friendly (after 12 years, I'm pretty confident with what I can and can't do, but it's always fun to push the envelope and see if they push back.) I got to do it. Can't ask for a better job than that. Here's a link to the boards.
One of the first scenes I came up with.
Nick breaks his pencil. Comedy ensues.

A Year in the Life: Interactive Media Director

Over this past year, I had the privilege of working on a huge project developing all the original animated material for the Fresh TV series "Grojband". From concept to final product, I couldn't have a better test of my varied skills and interests. My role including:

  • Help conceive 52 mini-scenes, mostly gag driven, I think in all I was responsible for just over 30.
  • Storyboard mini-scenes, site and game intros
  • Design unicorns, gods, dogs, anything that was not created specifically for the show.
  • Animation, directing a small crew of freelancers, I was responsible for all the animated material for the site, including the game animation, which was a first for me but super fun.

Overall the media company I was working with, Secret Location, was incredible. Awesome and enthusiastic about the project, which just fueled me to give them everything I could. I also have to thank George Elliott for the connection.

The series has aired so I think it's safe to post some stuff now, as for the final project, the site goes live in Sept. so I'll post a link to it when it's up.

A solid year of work can't be squished into one image, but here's a glimpse.
